iLEAP Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos Global Leadership, June 2017

Wendy’s Story

Wendy Velasquez is currently a university student, finishing her studies and specializing in foreign languages. She is a sociable and friendly person who is very dedicated to her work. Wendy values honest conversation and loves being able to support others through their triumphs and failures alike. She believes leaders are not born, but instead, [created as a result of experiences that allow them to see multiple viewpoints.] Wendy is also a graduate of the Seattle Institute.

In addition to attending school full time, Wendy demonstrates her leadership with Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos in a variety of areas. Her position as a manager within NPH Girls Education programs allows her the opportunity to mentor adolescent girls on the weekend, encouraging them to take advantages of the opportunities that are presented to them. Wendy has also served as an educator in the home for a number of years.

Wendy is looking forward to her time with iLEAP, and sees it as an opportunity to continue her involvement with the NPH community, as well as improve English as her second language. She is also excited to share and expand the knowledge she already possesses as a leader, and gain the tools to grow both personally and professionally.
