Yuri’s Story

Originally from Kanagawa, Yuri is majoring in Aerospace at Kyushu University.

Yuri is interested in finding a way to increase a workplace’s community engagement, especially by young people. She wants to empower employees to feel they can create social change by playing an active role in their companies. Yuri also hopes to increase conversation in the workplace, by having people speak out and propose more meaningful, precise and insightful ideas.

Yuri hopes to be an example of her dreams herself, and has a strong passion to change Japan’s future through aerospace technology. She is particularly interested in developing artificial satellites, that would improve disaster predictions, weather predictions, and global positioning systems. She believes that this type of technology can greatly improve Japan’s future.

Through the TOMODACHI-Microsoft iLEAP Social Innovation and Leadership Program, Yuri is excited to expand her views and deepen her values that will help her learn to lead others, and play a more active role in her community.
