Our people need to promote changes that will allow them to evolve and develop for the benefit and common good. These changes can only be made when leaders who can lead struggles to forge changes in attitudes and a positive influence on people, so that together will achieve objectives and goals for the benefit of all. Small farmers organizations work proactively in the pursuit of comprehensive sustainable development. But we must make it clear that sustainability is not simply the continuity or durability, it’s a complex problem that is part of the cultural historical development of the people involved to foster an environment of human development. People are organized into cooperatives in the pursuit of common goals, are businesses with social responsibility, where all partners and all involved decided democratically, without gender, race or political ideologies. The struggle in the work of cooperatives is that all partners are leaders, so that together build significant changes to benefit their families, their communities and country. The UN has recognized the work of cooperatives and has declared the year 2.012 as the international year of cooperation. It is important for the cooperative sector worldwide because it is recognized that the cooperative model is an important factor of social and economic development that promotes the highest possible participation in the economic and social development of people, not only in developed countries if not that in poor countries is an alternative for the eradication of poverty by growing in people values such as mutual aid, solidarity and equity. Congratulations to all cooperatives.
