Women are not inherently passive or peaceful. We’re not inherently anything but human.
( Robin Morgan)

After a couple of month without posting I decided to post a small blog to share with you, what is happening in my Little Country in Women Rights issues. I’m kind of sad, impotent and hopeless.-
We are going backward about Humans Rights in Honduras since 2009, but now we are living one of the worse moments in our times. First of all we have a lot of problem because of the Narco war and now the Supreme Court is saying NO to family planning and the use of ACE (artificial contraception emergency pill).
We called it PAE (pastilla anticonceptiva de emergencia), and we use it since the 80´s, PAHO was/is one the biggest promoters in the world. The Government allowed women and youth to used it for emergency cases (rape, forgot to use the method, etc). When the supreme court of Honduras, said no to this method, took on their hands the lives of millions Honduran Women we dont have a voice anymore our Law is silent and all the international treaty are useless.
I’m condem to become a criminal, because I’m not going to avoid the opportunity to give information to my students and the young women around me, 72 hrs are key for a women who doesnt want to have a baby in a country, where rape and sexual abuse is normal and natural…. Our people is blind and our congress is weak and do not care about women rights.
iLEAP taught me, that I need to take actions and be able to be aware of the world around me, now I understood that I´m very affraid of the violence in my city but I´m more scare of the lack of access to justice and education in my community. I will share with you this site: Please read it and leave a comment.
