CAGJ Event
Yesterday on behalf of iLEAP we participated in the Fair and Dinner program organized by Community Alliance for Global Justice. We got an opportunity to meet with different organizations, small businesses, food producers, urban gardeners, activists, journalist, individuals, supporters and so on…. It was in fact a great event with hundreds of people around the center busy learning from one another. I could observe organizations with creative ideas, with networks developed and resources identified and mobilized for Global Justice.
The mass participating in the dinner seemed to be aware of the global food issues. The event gave me additional motivation and greater understanding of peoples curiosity over sustainable food systems. The farmers were recognized and were appreciated for being farmers. This is a positive development towards food issue, today. Not only the farmers need to be involved in food production but to some extent all of us living either in rural or urban areas need to learn and grow some part of our food, which will help all of us to overcome the food crisis.

hi ram,
i am glad you are still posting here. i check in on both of your blogs and still appreciate reading your perspective and thoughts.
i attended the CAGJ fair last year and was happy that you, sylvester and abel could attend this year on behalf of iLEAP. There are many many fairs like that happening all summer and into the fall as well. It’s nice to walk through the booths and tables, but it’s also nice to be a sponsor there and recognize the work of others and how it connects with your own, as well has have others do the same for your own work.
the fairs are both educational as well as a link within the process of community building around certain issues. i also heard you were next to Interra - it sounds like we’ll be partnering with them for this summer’s program. serendipitous, i’d say!
thanks again, ram.

yes i think the work of Interra was great. I had a discussion with them about their work. Its amazing that the community card program of Interra since October has accelerated with almost thousand members. They have collected more than 35000 from the program. They were also interested in our programs, I think the partnership with them would be great.
