How can we become leaders that use our values and authenticity to bring others along? How do we know we are living in alignment with our values? Authentic Leadership is a course designed for soon-to-be and young professional women around the world that want to uncover powerful leadership insights and opportunities early in their career. Authentic Leadership highlights gender dimensions of leadership and helps young women step into their power.

We are only beginning to see more women in leadership and greater diversity among decision makers globally. As young women, you have the opportunity to shape new ways of being and creating. This course will allow you to explore your values and behaviors and the positive impact they can have on others. How will you become the kind of leader that feels true to you? You will learn from your peers and explore how alignment with your values can create new opportunities for you and others.

Jessica Grounds

Jessica N. Ground

Jessica N. Grounds is an internationally recognized thought-leader in women’s leadership and workplace diversity practices. She has developed innovative approaches to advance women leaders in a wide range of industries and has published cutting-edge research on effective leadership in business and politics. Jessica has designed trainings and programs in the U.S. and globally to enhance better workplace performance and leadership skills.

Jessica currently serves as the Co-Founder of Mine The Gap, a company that equips leaders, industries, and organizations with the strategy and tools to create and sustain inclusive and diverse work environments. Jessica is also the Co-Founder and former Executive Director of Running Start, an organization that inspires and trains young women to run for political office. Running Start has trained over 20,000 high school and college-aged women to run for office. She continues to serve as an active board member.

Jessica’s latest research – Claim Your Seat: Women of Color on California’s Public Company Boards – underscores the challenges and opportunities to bringing diversity the top levels of business. Her research with Mine The Gap and FTI Consulting – Culture At Work, #MeToo At Work & The Enthusiasm Gap – reveals important insights on gender dynamics in the workplace. After living and working in Washington, DC for over 16 years, she is now based in her hometown, San Diego, California.

Kristin Haffert, Project Mine the Gap

Kristin Haffert

Kristin is an expert in women’s leadership and has devoted her life to advancing gender equality. From villages to the halls of national government in conflict and other countries in every region of the world, Kristin’s made her first mission in life getting more women elected to office. Because of her belief that the world will be a different place if we had more women leaders, she has worked with multilateral organizations like the UN, Fortune 500 companies, and activists around the world to advance women to the highest levels of power across sectors where they are now making an exponential impact. Kristin co-founded Mine The Gap which she runs with her business partner, Jessica Grounds. She has an BA from Douglass College, the women’s college at Rutgers University and has a MS in Leadership from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University. When she isn’t working, she’s enjoying family and friends at the beach in New Jersey, USA or is digging in her garden.
